It isn’t like anyone here was likely to want to actually buy one of these Ford cars. Is this that big of a deal?

Do you know something about the author (Elizabeth Warren) that I don’t, online commenter who doesn’t bother looking at the byline person?
This is craziness. I’m not sure if jalopnik writers are being told what their opinion on these tariffs should be, or if there’s a misunderstanding of how international business works. Yes, Ford not selling cars they’re building in China, in the USA, does hurt Ford, just as the tariffs are intended to. Yes, retaliatory…
So...you are for selling Chinese made cars in the U.S.? Will you still be so thrilled when every manufacturer starts doing this? I swear, if Trump Tweeted that only losers drink bleach, at least half you would start guzzling Clorox straight from the bottle.
Aapparently the tariffs are working in most other regions of the world, since trade talks are happening and China is one if the only hard headed hold outs. China can not afford to hold out much longer, since we are major buyers of goods coming from their country.
Yup, looks like the writer left out fact and wrote this article with his heart, Snow flake?
Who is fighting the deportation of those overstaying their visas, again?
Nice strawman ya got there, Sparky. Did you build it yourself, or buy it from AliExpress?
On the contrary, that is exactly how it works. Trump and the US will win in the end, regardless of what Ford decides to do. Ford is merely cutting it’s losses since unfair trade deals are nolonger allowing them to profit from foreign production. It's time these jobs and money come back to the US.
Is your argument that democrats shouldn’t support importing low wage labor that undermines the American worker and unions?
Ford will sell other cars here, like the ones they already make in North America.
At least get your headline right.... “Ford NIXES plans to sell Chinese-made cars in the US...”
They haven’t *started* selling them here to begin with, yet your headline implies they have.
You mean, ‘Trucks, Trucks, and only Trucks’ FoMoCo, was going to sell cars in the US, but only if they could get cheap foreign labor to make them and bring them over here?
That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works!
No. Just No. I don’t know what language that is, but No/Non/Nei/Nein/Nej/όχι/нет/Hapana/לא/and No.
Do we know what the chassis code for this thing is (e.g. 991, 987) because I’m just going to refer to it as that, and if I ever get one I’m re-badging it as such.
I want wagons and sedans to switch. Almost everyone gets a wagon, but the occasional sedan comes to market and is heralded for being unique. That’s my vision for Hogan’s America.
