My ND has an identical vent setup - it’s bizarre, but I assume it’s due to the passenger side airbag and lack of space

I rented a Captiva a few years ago - it was a typical, soulless small SUV that doesn’t do anything amazing except work as a vehicle for transporting people and things.
I liked the HUD on my C6. If you set it so it’s not too bright it’s a lot easier to deal with.
The only times I drive barefoot are when I’m taking a road trip. I use cruise control all the time, so it’s just a little more comfortable.
