Pretty simple system:
Most of those jobs don't "require" a college degree, employers just like you to have them as a means of demonstrating your competence. Google isn't going to pass on hiring some programming whiz kid simply because he only picked up a semester worth of credits before being discovered. Outside of jobs that require…
But what's the logic behind making them stay? Putting *more* money in the school's pocket at the expense of the athlete? Why?
Sure, but for that education, you pay a market rate, something that college athletes are denied, which is beyond ridiculous.
Eh. A little different. Baseball players have more of an opportunity to play at, say, a top JUCO — like Bryce Harper — and still face talent comparable to most D1 schools, while being able to be drafted the next year. In basketball, there is a HUGE drop off in talent from top D1's to pretty much everything else.…
Should I just recopy what I posted in response to your first post? How exactly would Amar'e Stoudemire be any better off than he is now by spending a year in college?
If that were the problem, the NCAA could solve it in about 1 hour by implementing a rule that undrafted kids out of high school maintained their eligibility...
Amar'e was rookie of the year, 6 time all star, all NBA first team, all NBA second team 4 more times, and an Olympian all while making hundreds of millions of dollars. Yea he needed a year at college for sure.
Because a player shouldn't be forced to stay by the colleges. Any other student is free to leave, they should be too.
Why is Emmert even talking? If I want to hear what his views are, I'll just wait for the SEC press release.
The only reason anyone supports one and done is because of political correctness bullshit. This is America. If you are 18, you should be able to turn pro if someone wants to make you a pro. Hell, basketball and soccer players in Europe turn pro before 18, some as young as 13 and 14!
♫ Row row row your 'thlete
Or be able to leave whenever you want just like other students can.
Jesus Christ, did they cut this guy straight out of Team America?
We've had a longstanding ban on unboxing videos here at Gizmodo. Every once in a while, though, something happens…
They left a bit out of the story. In the extended cut, just as the monkeys became super smart, a new reality TV series was introduced, that combined a singing/dancing/talent contest with redneck Jersey Shore midgets that are also conjoined and like to perform at child pageants. The effect of the show dropped the …
I agree. An egg sac with a fence to keep ants or other scavengers out.
As someone who spent a number of years on a farm, there is no name changing process involved in acquiring livestock.
