Were you drinking when you were stabbed? Well, then, sorry to say, but maybe you are responsible for your own stabbing.

Sir, were you erring something revealing that allowed you to be stabbed? Was it not too much for you to have been wearing some sort of tactical Kevlar undergarment? Do you take no responsibility, sir?

What were you wearing when you were stabbed, that’s going to affect my decision.

who falls into cannibalism after she eats rabbit liver as part of a hazing incident in veterinarian school.

I don’t know why her campaign let Hillary Clinton see this screening to begin with. Sad.

Honestly, the former. No one should go to the movies one day and then have hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical debt the next. But as I’m sure you’re aware the problem goes far beyond who pays the bills. It shouldn’t cost that much in the first place.

It is awful and the govt absolutely should pay or the hospitals should simply absorb the cost. But they don’t. The American healthcare system is broken in a thousand different ways. This is just one of them.

I know I’m probably just a naive non-American, but shouldn’t the government pay medical bills and compensation in cases like these? Expecting victims to pay their own costs sounds awful.

My guess is that the victims were burdened with medical bills and lost income so they were looking to recoup that loss. Cinemark was the easiest target. Pretty much sucks all around.

There was no one else to sue. And some really shitty lawyers convinced them they could win.

Defendants’ goal has always been to resolve this matter fully and completely without an award of costs of any kind to any party

Taking “Junior” to the hospital is a totally valid use of a sick day under basically every rule out there. What the fuck.

She's right, it's literally unbelievable.

“her parents began monitoring her time online, according to the affidavit.”

Anybody who "lectures" a waiter, about anything at all, is a tool. Give your order and shut up.

The second movie looks worse than the first. I’ve never seen two people look like they want to bone each other less.

i cant believe they even went through with the second movie. there is so little hype for it

You’re probably thinking about sex-positive consenting adults who discover polygamy as part of an informed journey and make un-coerced decisions about it. Tens of thousands of ‘sister-wives’ throughout the decades never had those choices.

Pretty predictable—it’s way too soon for him to start his redemption tour. Isn’t rule #1 in the crisis PR handbook to lay low for a while? Of course he was gonna get heckled. (Hopefully they didn’t do anything except embarrass him.)

Largely, but not entirely. People do still die from it, particularly if they had it awhile before they were diagnosed. It’s become so accepted as something manageable that a lot of people no longer realize it’s still deadly.
