Having recently watched Darkman & Quick and the Dead, I have to say that neither was nearly as good as Army of Darkness. But then I also consider the original Evil Dead to be the weakest of that franchise (including the remake & TV series).

There’s no law against calling dead people that. Mother Theresa can’t even do anything to me now!

Rice was also in The Nice Guys and The Beguiled.

Jon Favreau’s passion project was “Chef”.

Studio bookkeeping is a way to avoid having to pay people more, but since it’s a gimmick it can still be used to subsidize whatever the studio feels like subsidizing (like a one-for-me for a director who’s done one-for-them).

I only watched the first “Sinister” and was under the impression the one returning castmember in the sequel was James Ransome.

The AV Club could never get Scorsese to write for them.

I actually watched both seasons of “Sorry for Your Loss” (in an anonymous browser window, which I’m sure Facebook hates), and don’t feel any need to see Olsen be sad but in a cape this time.

I only watched The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy & Black Panther. With Avengers I felt like there was stuff I missed out on, and I know Black Panther had been introduced in an earlier movie (where I think his dad died and a recurring villain appeared), but did Guardians really require homework? I thought they were

The argument against that is that big tentpole movies subsidize the rest, and that Nolan got to make a number of his own films because of his success with Batman. Although I don’t watch the MCU because even keeping up with all the films (much less TV on a streaming service I’d never subscribe to) is too much for me.

This is what you moved from Chicago to LA for, right?

Marrying Jimmy is a long way to go for a long con.

I watched that around the time Get Out was released, and I was surprised how poor quality it was. Like on the level of a cheap old TV movie.

DeJonge was in “Better Watch Out” back in 2016, which I didn’t like nearly as much as many others did.

The release date has gotten moved around. I’m also surprised that in an article discussing the Dr. Strange sequel there was no mention that Derrickson directed the first one.

I complain a lot about the AV Club and how the comments section died down during the Kinjapocalypse, but sometimes it comes through with the relevant information. Kudos.

I wonder what back-in-the-day AVC commenter John Frankensteiner has to say about them remaking his Rock Hudson movie.

I wonder why Flanagan didn’t cast Greenwood in the first place, since he clearly likes going back to the well with his casts.

I was under the impression this was a miniseries which adapted the entire novel. Was I mistaken? Is there more to adapt?

I’m also boycotting indifference, apathy, boredom and boycotts.
