Yes, of course. If there we no pictures, if there was no video then Rice and Brown would be treated exactly like white men. Because that is how things work in America. Black people are always given the benefit of the doubt unless there's definitive proof that they behaved badly.

Many people had never heard of Chris Brown or Ray Rice before their arrests. Yet somehow they've been deemed fallen role-models and more worthy of public scorn than Brolin and Penn. That's how some folks attempt to deny that race is the biggest factor in the reactions to Brown and Rice.

amen

I think I made my point quite well. You, of course, are entitled to your opinion. Rice didn't do jail time because first-time offenders in Atlantic City don't typically do jail time. He was treated the same way other offenders are treated, and yes that absolutely includes "people with fewer social privileges".

His legal sanctions were typical for first-time offenders in Atlantic City.

Then look up the definition for the word "mistake", because it applies in this situation. Additionally he received standard treatment for a first-time offender. Why should he have been penalized more than others?

My point is black men are held to a different standard than white men, no matter what the act is. That especially holds true when violence is a factor. He made other apologies, they were immediately discounted.

Of course, this is America and the reaction to the wrongdoing of a black man is almost always on a different scale. Rice must be dehumanized, demeaned, disparaged. He must be made into the monster. He must be forever punished. He, along with Chris Brown, must be made the poster boy (emphasis on the boy) for

"I don't think anyone is ever forgiven by everyone, regardless of race."

Black men can never be forgiven. Perennial punishment is the only answer for them in this nation that was built on genocide and racism.

Why should he never return to the NFL?

Don't they know that Ray Rice is irredeemable? Don't they know that no matter what he says or does, he can never be forgiven? Don't they know that no one is permitted to view him as a flawed human being who did a horrible thing, but must view him as another black male monster who must be shunned? Don't they know

Just completely fuck these 4 trigger-happy cops; all other violent abusive cops; and and the insane white people (many of them self-professed liberals) who keep calling 911 at the mere sight of a brown or black man walking down the street, or sitting in the park, or driving, or breathing or existing. The DAs who

I live in NY and I never thought that. Then again, I've been black since birth so I know better than to believe in that type of rank stupidity.

That is complete and utter BS.

A tootsie roll pop is nothing more than a sugary, chocolate phallic symbol. Never, ever, never, ever eat one in public because you're simply asking for trouble.

So what, quit yer bitchin'.

So boring.

They are suing for "at least" $50,000. That means they're suing for a hell of a lot more, and rightfully so.
