I would theoretically be interested probably up to $12k or $13k, myself. 8-10k is basically where a stock <85k mile example with no rust is capable of selling. In fact, I saw a 30k-ish mile stock 3rd gen wagon sell for somwhere between $10-15k within the last 2 years. I can’t remember exactly how much, though.

It has been sold. I do not know for what price, but I would guess somewhere close to the asking since it hasn’t been for sale long.

He sold it, though!

You are spot on. I love the 3rd Gen Legacy wagons, goofy looks and all. I think this is a super awesome build that would certainly appeal to someone, even if not quite at that price. However, there is absolutely no way someone could build this for what anyone on here claims. I found the build thread; the total cost

The build is pretty well documented on a forum somewhere, but I do not recall where. It all was done to a pretty high standard, if I remember correctly. I’d trust it pretty well, but I still wouldn’t justify paying that much for it.

I despise this argument. What was the original GTO, if not a big bland car with a big awesome motor? The 04-06 GTO is the epitome of GTO

I’d be interestd to know where you got $2k for labor, considering a OEM engine replacement would approach that cost. There is a build log somewhere on a forum for this car that I cannot find right now, and if I remember right labor was over $15k.

I’m fairly certain that these Montes didn’t even get the supercharged version of the 3800, despite being called SS. Some of them did, but I do not believe this is one.

So wait; The street racer man is now captaining a military Submarine and flying a military fighter plane? A lot has happened in 6 movies, hasn’t it?

Plot twist: It will be a lifted hatchback on par with and to compete with the Mitsu Eclipse

This car-thing is only “beautiful” in comparison to Toyota’s other models, and some other “edgy, futuristic” designs. It is still a very very ugly automobile.

Great, let’s keep encouraging people to fuck around on their phones while they drive. And don’t give me that “it’s for the passengers” bullshit.

People who evaluate a car based on its ability to do a burnout are either A) a redneck or B) 13 years old. Which do you identify as?

Right? Resale values beg to differ.

Heavy is almost always relevant. A good car isn’t about setting new records for the average buyer. It is about how the car drives, and how it feels. A heavy car will almost always feel heavy. Power doesn’t make a car good, it is merely a way for insecure men to prove their manliness. A truly good car is about balance.

Overstyled is their official design language, from what I gather.

the bold on “thanks” made me LOL

Keep Jalopnik weird!
