“A World First”
Does that even really matter? It’s not like there’s a huge history of raids to compare this to in regards to FPS styled games...

You make valid points, however:

Man, fuck them for ruining “kek”. It was the goddamned translation of “lol” in World of Warcraft, and they ruined it.

I understand where you’re coming from; I think our disagreement is in the approach to rectify the problem.

I think you have it backwards.

People on the left freak out about something innocuous having a secret double meaning, the alt-right laughs and then uses it as if it did. By doing so they are both trolling lefties ‘in-the-know’ and mocking the left as a whole at the same time.

I think he means changing this is all kinds of dumb. That symbol so vaguely resembles the Alt-Right symbol it would be impossible for someone to mistake it for the other. Yet, someone did, and threw a fit. So Bungie played it safe. When people talk about SJW, this is what they mean.

Then why give them a recruitment platform? I would assume that articles like this just aid in their endeavors. The problem with the constant fighting and desire to ban or object to every possible symbol that these groups choose to associate with are it gives them the power to box you in a corner. What stops them from

The unfortunate truth is that you are letting them take these symbols. A ****ing frog and now something that isn’t even the symbol? Please. People like you are as much of a problem as those you think are stealing the symbols. When you do stuff like this, you let them win. I would have never known, or cared, that this

I disagree, if we have learned anything in the last decade it should be that you cannot fight idealism. Censorship seems to play right into their hand. Look what this article did already it brought the “alt-right” to the front page and made them relevant yet again. Groups like this die because no one hears of them.

We should ban plus signs, because they share elements with the swastika.

Where do you draw the line? At what point do we say censorship has a more probative impact than simply choosing not to acknowledge the symbolism?

Really dumb. Hopefully they don’t all show up to a rally wearing a suit and tie. I’d hate to see suit and ties get banned as a symbol of hate.

Agreed completely dumb

how? half the kotaku stories are a synopsis of a reddit thread and the other half are redundant statements of what Tweets said then posting those tweets inline. how exactly do I avoid it? also, can I get a job posting quotes of tweets then posting inline tweets or summarizing reddit threads? I could do it in my sleep.

*there

Came here to say this. The upvote/downvote buttons are not agree/disagree buttons. They’re “this does/doesn’t meaningfully add to the ‘discussion’” buttons.

That’s explicitly not what downvoting is supposed to be used for.

that trailer is entirely nonsensical, but...pretty? i dunno. the translation read like an madlib of standard RPG words mashed together.
