I think part of the issue is that term ignores vital differences in the cultures it is trying to represent. The idea that sexualities and genders, let alone all the different types of those two demographics, can be represented in one term detracts from our unique cultures.

Please, name the other times it has happened recently, in a greater ratio to other relationships on those shows?

For me, it's not so much disagreeing with you about LGBT/+/non-heteronormative (seriously, it's a bitch trying to find a single, easy, inclusive term for all genders and sexualities) relationships are typically handled in media, it's specifically about this one. As Nuke the Whales said summed up, this was a pretty

Yeah, read Keith Edwards' article on ally development and understand your own biases that you are bringing into the conversation.

No, just no. Please keep your aspiring ally for altruism schtick to yourself. Was it a bit formulaic of the show to kill of 1/2 of a pairing after they finally connected sexually/emotionally? Sure. That happens, however, within a ton of tv shows and movies. It had absolutely nothing to do with Lexa-Clarke relationship

And I would say Ginger totally had Adele's essence down just as well, especially if you watch her interviews and live moments.

It's a drag competition, and also one of the most subversive shows on television. It had also been on for 6 previous seasons, so it's not like she didn't know what it was about. I

I'm sorry, I will take Ginger's Adele over Jinx's Little Edie any day. I love me some Jinx, and found her hysterical on her season, but her impression was basically quoting the movie lines.

The birth scenes had me in tears, so unbelievably affecting. As always, the writing, the actors, and the vision for the whole show really just come together in scenes like that. Extremely happy the show has delivered at such a spectacular level this entire season.

I couldn't stop laughing during the crying scene. Especially as Axl helplessly reached for Mike.

What a beautiful episode. I've searched for a lot of words to describe it, and that is the one that keeps coming to mind. I'll also say that once or twice a season I'll notice how stellar the music is in an episode. This was definitely one of those times.

Seriously though, Chris Messina sold that dish washing scene. When his voice cracked twice, it was over. I didn't agree with Danny, but I understood his choices after that.

Shhhhhh, you're supposed to hate Patrick and Kevin together, don't let the others know or else they will come and get you!

I don't know what was funnier, the scene of Sammi teaching Chuckie how to whore himself out for protection, or the entire courtroom scene. I could not stop laughing.

IDK, your 13-year-old kid, your only kid, is sitting in jail facing a felony charge he is completely innocent of. You probably do anything you can to get him out.

Shameless does character development and pay-off so freaking well. Everything was fantastic tonight. Lip's monologue was so on point, and I am glad he's going to fight like hell to stay in college. Debbie's really transitioned this year from a kid to a young adult. I know she is just a teenager, but watching her just

Josh, I enjoy your reviews, but you are way too hung up on JJS. I think it has actually clouded you to what has happened in the middle of this season. Fiona did not choose Gus, or even really reject JJS in that curb scene. What she finally did was realize that her life is at a totally different point after all of

Cold, but I LOVE it.

I really feel like JJS is being used this season by the writers to provide Fiona closure to their relationship. All of her romantic relationships have been haunted by his ghost, and she definitely needs to see him and eventually put them to bed.

I think the build up was purposeful. Fi had just randomly kissed him, he was so quick to offer a coffee shop that was close to his house for their date. Then it was closed, and he was all like "We can just go to my place." Also after last season, we have been trained to think Fiona's life trajectory as only downhill.
