Oh and also this combines nicely with iTerm2's split-pane terminal windows. No tabs needed, just snap a terminal to the far 1/3 or 2/3 of the screen, and split it into multiple sub terminals with your web browser snapped to the opposite side. Works great.

For OS X I find that a combination of Spectacle and Better Touch Tool gives good control of window snapping. One let’s you drag and snap along the screen edges, the other let’s you use key combinations to snap the windows similarly but also has options for 1/3 and 2/3 screen windows which can be lined up as well.
