Exactly - the trade-offs from a sedan to a crossover aren’t what they once were, so the fuel economy argument doesn’t seem to be as big of a factor to me.

I’m one of the people who perpetuates the easier to load kids arguments. I do find it easier. When we only had sedans I hated bending down to load young kids or buckle them into their car seats.

It’s even a fake Toyota.

A higher frame station wagon.

“Help me MS-Paint, you’re my only hope...”

There are unassisted speed records too. Calm down and appreciate someone who had the guts to go 184 mph on a bicycle. If you think that's not impressive, go look up the unassisted speed records.

“Too heavy to be FWD”

Remember: if you don’t buy a Miata they’ll have to discontinue them only to have the name come back ten years later on a crossover.

I hate to break it to you, but the Regal TourX is actually a five door coupe.

At this point, I don’t care if GM revives Fiero, Mazda revives RX-#, or Nissan re-invents and returns to the roots of the Z...

Kids these days are so *cute* when they discover this sort of thing.

That would be nice, but you can't be too precious about the paint on something you're DDing in the winter. The elements are going to win eventually.

Ok, doing the math and obv I’m failing somewhere....

Tunnels exist, Teslas exist. WTF did it actually test?

I remember a story (I think it was on Jalopnik last year) about how they did autonomous car testing in Russia’s chaotic driving conditions (horrible drivers, lack of respect for signage and regulations, shitty weather, etc) and most if not all the systems failed or did very poorly. That, I think is the next hurdle

I too am glad someone is finally trying motorized vehicles on underground tracks. A sort of subterranean way of doing things. Why didn’t anyone think of this before?

To improve the efficiency you could use some sort of electric bus. Chain them together to increase capacity. Also recharging as they drive through the tunnel would be handy.

What’s not to understand? It’s a less efficient subway system that requires you to provide your own expensive-ass car which must be painstakingly retrofitted with training wheels, travels slower than freeway traffic on the surface, has limited destinations, and allows you to experience the existential thrill of what

This concept has never made much sense to me, This video of a small one way tunnel hasn’t helped.

This. My 107 year old house has a relatively modern electrical system, but would need a new, larger panel, and a major rework to allow for a dedicated high voltage, high amperage run to a location outside my house where I can charge....which doesn’t exist because my 107 year old house doesn’t have a driveway, carport
