As a kid, I never got the appeal of Actraiser. Somehow I know it is highly praised.

I was much more impressed with the four programmable “paddles” located under the controller, which aim to make use of a couple of my fingers that were usually just sitting there. It was an actual, clear-cut new idea for how a game controller might be laid out.

It still saddens me BF1943 didn’t get released on the PC.

I am still a strong advocate for player models not rendering when prone in tall grass. I think such a technical implementation could greatly benefit the gameplay. Off course some minor details should be ironed out but I gues that can be tested.
