That was so fucking dumb and distracting.
That was so fucking dumb and distracting.
Hannah "wasn't crazy" about Paul-Louis' reaction? Understatement much? I think she was pretty devastated. She had some fantasy that he would OFFER to help as much as she wanted and she could pick and choose how much to involve him. But the reality was incredibly harsh - she's gonna have to do it alone.
I think you hit the nail in the head - they were able to cast him and they went for it even though he seems pretty wrong for the role. Maybe if he had time to do some situps, but his love handles do not scream surf instructor to me.
I don't think there was any evidence she was all in his head, although it's possible we'll see evidence of that at some point in the future (which is rapidly dwindling). But that just illustrates the problem that she was more of the Magical Negro to Teach Him Things rather than a real character.
I asked this last week and supposedly in the episode where they met, he said he was a water ski instructor and was only filling in as a surf instructor. Which is pointlessly confusing and doesn't advance the plot one iota. I don't get it.
Huh - see above reply from PandaBearShape - any my reply. Weird.
ohhhh!! I must not have heard him say that the first time. thank you! It still seems odd and a little distracting. That;s kind of a random factoid that didn't have any effect on anything - why bother?
Oof, if that's actually the intent, that's pretty clunky and unrealistic considering Hannah was in the Hamptons specifically for surf camp, on a job assignment (presumably she even wrote an article about it). She also spent a few days with him essentially at his place of business (the ocean). It doesn't ring remotely…
Wasn't John-Louis the surf instructor? Why does Hannah keep referring to him as the water ski instructor? The first few times I thought she did it to withhold a detail about him, but then she called up the surf school and asked for the water ski instructor?
Chiming in 6 months later to say the most anachronistic piece of dialogue was when someone said "off her meds". That was DEFINITELY not a saying in the '80s.
And a knitted hat.
Holy shit, that's an apt and sad final sentence.
Fuckin Negan. He's an asshole but he's not scary. That scarf and $800 John Varvatos slim fit leather jacket just don't scream "menacing" to me.
She seemed very emotional when her BF broke up with her. To the point where she wanted to get totally drunk with Stone.
he did it when he was naked, took a shower and then put his clothes back on. We saw him taking his shirt off in bed with Andrea and he had his clothes on when he woke up
That would be a good way to reveal it.
I hope Naz did it. That would be realistic.
I don't think it did.
Hi, chiming in late to say that I'm not really sure what Naz undergoes is a regression. Shaving his head and pooping in public don't really add up to turning him into a baby. And unless we know he was, in fact, a bully as a child, kicking the shit out of Calvin isn't really a return to be a school kid.
what you are positing is not an argument, it's a fact. Adler was a GREAT Drummer and his balance, swing and energy were huge component of the sound
