I'm here from the future to say that although Hamm was great, i don't think he held a fucking candle to Mendlesohn. 40% of Hamm's ability comes from his square jaw.

That would be cool, what should the reaction be? That he's a symbol of all that's wrong with America and will spoil the untouched Cuban people? That's a really pretentious and patriarchal way of looking at things.
ETA: I want to say what a Cuban Cubano looks like and tastes like, if there is such a thing.

I just re-read the 1990 version and couldn't agree more.

Laird is worthy of admiration.

I'm pretty sure it was the characters, not the writers who were mistaken about these nuances. And in any event, the comment about gray goose was meant as this will be the next big thing, not talking about the next vodka

World War Z (the book) was about 1000x more realistic in this regard.

The horrible, insulting cliffhanger is the least of the problems. Hell, cliffhangers are a part of the DNA of entertainment, from Dickens' serial books, to the shorts before the features in the 50's, to TV's Batman, to Who Shot JR?.

Nice scarf, you fuckin jackalope. Not scary.

Just wanna say, ha, no, you're fucking wrong. You watch a lot of movies. (We all do.) But no. A confident, street smart tough dude will ALWAYS back the fuck down if a gun comes out. The more experienced, the more calm, the quicker he would be to just try and get the guy to take the shit and move the fuck away. trust

Sung to the tune of "Love is Like Oxygen"

Wouldn't cigarettes be totally stale by this point? Even when they're unopened, after a few years I think they'd be totally unsmokeable.

He was such a simpering coward before than this is a great change of pace.

Less talking, more action = better Walking Dead.

Just wanted to chime in here and say your comments are 100% dead on, the phrase "magical science negro" made perfect sense and was instantly understandable and Shawn EH appears to be a fanboy blinded to the realities of the boy.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but one major problem is how damn LONG this movie is. They could have easily trimmed 30 minutes from it and it would've been much improved, although still fatally flawed. Would have taken it from 4 stars to maybe 6 or 7 (graded on a curve).

And no one else brought any music?

Totally agree, which makes it sad. My point is that I don't think it's inaccurate to say that he was legit a great drummer in the old days. I don't know exactly when he fell off the cliff (no pun intended) but I know at the Big 4 Yankee Stadium show I saw, he simply could NOT play the double bass drum part in One.

I'm sure if all you liked was thrash, you would've enjoyed Metallica more than Ozzy. But as a kid who was into all kinds of music, and all kinds of metal, I thought it was a remarkably close call. Yes, there were elements of Ozzy's show that were cheesy, but that band ripping through Bark at the Moon, Flying High

One small point: I saw Metallica open for Ozzy, and they were amazing (keep in mind this was when Cliff was still alive and it was their first arena tour) but they did NOT blow Ozzy away.

His drumming live was more than adequate for many of the early years. Pretty much totally on, although sometimes the energy made him a little sloppy. He really didn't lose his live chops until later. The whole "Lars sucks" thing is ridiculous. NOW he sucks, but that's like saying Ian Gillan has no range.
