That's not the argument at all. These products give you a false sense of security, giving you an unwarranted impression that you are safe if they have not activated. Just as bad, they can give false positives with alarming frequency, which could lead you to randomly accuse people of trying to drug you on completely

I was actually impressed with the intelligence of the comments in this article until I read yours.

This is complete bullshit. If he didn't rape someone, he should absolutely defend himself. People are raped and it's horrible, but people are also falsely accused and that's also an injustice. These things come down to pure "he said, she said" and that's what makes them so difficult, but an innocent person

Around the time CK went on his rant about the testing, someone else I follow talked about how he got burned out from that kind of culture & between 9th-11th grade went from routine A+'s to mostly C's & B's. I'd say that existential awareness is one aspect of it. Another is a lack of goals. Previous generations have, to a lesser extent, had some driving force behind them. Whether that was blind patriotism/nationalism due to indoctrination, a looming threat of fascist oppression or merely trying to survive.

Personally, I think the previous generation struggled with it too, it just wasn't identified as depression. Either that or they were too busy working to really think about their depression.
