Pretty sad that someone with a Bugatti has to use self-serve gas pumps. The rich elite have fallen so far.

1st: After talking to my friends with BEVs, I am not sure I’ll ever want one. At least, not until battery technology gets to the point that energy density gets a lot higher, batteries get a lot lighter, and charging times get a lot shorter. I drove from central NC to central NY for the holidays in my 2018 Subaru Legacy

In my experience, Toyota and Honda dealers think they are doing you a favor by letting you in the door, not unlike Verizon stores. The customer is not king at those two brands. Of course, there are exceptions, but that is why I’ve only ever owned 1 Toyota and 0 Hondas, despite being more than willing to buy either on

I tend to agree with him for the most part.  We need to be able to store and replenish the energy needed to propel the vehicles much more efficiently than we currently can for anything beyond a PHEV to be on my shopping list.  Also, they need to be a lot lighter, but that is true of vehicles in general these days

This ^^.  Apple products generally last a long time if not abused.  My 7-year old MBP 15 is still very usable and will continue to be so for a while yet.  The only reason I had buy a new phone this year is because I didn’t get enough storage when I got my iPhone 11, so this time I got the 512GB version of the iPhone

A lot of dealers have lost service revenue due to people driving less, so this seems like a reasonable option for them to keep their techs working and bringing in the money.

This^^. Go see concerts to support artists, although that’s not so easy with Taylor Swift. Also, some artists on platforms like Spotify get a much bigger slice of the pie on a per-stream basis than others (not sure which others do this). Essentially, the more popular your songs are, the more you get paid, with many

Not sure about Tarantino, but the reason I am over superhero movies is they are so formulaic.  Maverick kind of suffered from the same thing IMHO.

Demand for payroll and tax accountants is at an all-time high, so not really surprised.  Also, “automated” payroll systems often still require a surprising amount of human activity.

More difficult maintenance?  Compared transverse-mounted I4s?  Have you seen the location of the oil filter on the FB25?

A coworker professed to hate candy corn.  Then he actually tried some I brought in, and he liked it.   I think the candy corn hate is largely just people piling on to hate something.  It is what the internet is for after all, isn’t it?

All I know is the Dark Chocolate Kit Kats in the UK are a million times better than any Kit Kats we get in the US.

I’ve done 10 days at a 5-star resort in Hawaii including airfare, rental car, and the resort on more than one occasion for less than staying on-premises at Disney for a week, not including transportation and airfare.  This is why I’ve been to Hawaii several times, but I’ve still never stayed on-prem at Disney.

Just because Tesla makes expensive cars, that doesn’t make them luxury.  They are nice enough, but the high cost isn’t due to how luxurious they are.  It is because more of the cost of EVs is up-front.

That sounds like it is made out of people, so somehow worse.

I never had anyone in the back of my BRZ.  It seemed like a human rights violation.

I prefer self checkout at this point.  The cashiers at Target and the local grocery stores are all so new they don’t have a clue how to bag groceries correctly.  It is worth the hassle of doing it myself to make sure my bread and eggs survive the trip home.

Why do people cruise? Well, it was, and probably still is, one of the least expensive ways to travel on a per-person basis. I’ve only taken one cruise to Alaska because it was one of the only practical ways of visiting a bunch of places only readily accessible by sea, and I have no desire to do it again any time soon,

I agree with most everything except the positions of the early Thor movies and the Captain America sequels need to be reversed. The Thor movies are seriously underappreciated and the Captain America sequels are bland and repetitive in their stories. IMHO Captain America in general suffers from the same kind of
