Kids need to play in dirt. Big surprise... When was this forgotten?

I loved her part in The Avengers. The reverse interrogation that introduces her? Amazing. Her showdown with Banner, who could easily kick her ass? Very dramatic and fun to watch. The scene after Hawkeye’s “recalibration”? A+

I don’t think it would make much sense for her to if she’s as good of a spy as she’s supposed to be.

This is dumb. There was controversy over Widow’s story line in AoU, sure. But Whedon was the first person to get the character at all right - Widow in The Avengers is worlds above Widow in Iron Man 2.

Seriously. I watched the movie twice in theaters to follow the dialog in that scene and it’s very clear that she’s ‘a monster’ because she was trained from a child to be remorseless, murderous, spy. I admit, the dialog is not the best in that scene but she definitely isn’t implying she’s a monster due to lack of kids.

They also forget that Scarlett Johansson was pregnant while Age of Ultron was being shot which limited which scenes she was able to do. But it’s always easier to demonise Whedon and blame him for everything.

“This was especially noticeable in Age of Ultron, where Black Widow’s primary source of conflict was feeling like a monster because she couldn’t have children”

He takes the audience through some culprits, like his brother Loki, and someone he calls Purple Guy (it’s Thanos). Thor knows three things about this character: He’s purple, he has a glove, and he doesn’t like standing up.

Chris Hemsworth is thisclose to actually launching a career as a comedic actor. Seriously. He can’t open a non-Thor action movie on his own and the dramas failed. Basically he’s the new Dwayne Johnson. A tall, good-looking muscle bound man who shines more when he jokes and smiles than when he grunts and punches.

The shape of the primary and secondary hulls remind me of the Vulcan IDIC symbol.

Because it means that, when the Enterprise gets attacked, we don’t care. Why? Because we just spent a solid fifteen minutes being told by Kirk that he doesn’t care. We should really hate to see the Enterprise get its ass kicked. We really don’t.

Sorry for being terse, but so what? If we’re going to take that to the reductio ad absurdum, women shouldn’t be playing Shakespeare. After all, the Bard conceived all his female roles for men in a time and place where it was illegal for women to be on the stage.

While Pegg’s handwavey explanation is one thing, his larger point is spot on: This universe is a new playground not beholden to previous cannon. And that’s a good thing, as it will attract and allow new ideas to explore. I care much more about the that then HOW it came to be.

I find it interesting to see how many people seem to think that a gay person would be so unlikely produce a child. Some LGBT folks give cis a chance. Maybe because social pressure or maybe it takes them time to come to terms with or understand where they fall on that particular spectrum.

I CAN ALSO COMMENT IN CAPS LOCK!

Even if he did, they could just say “Sulu was bisexual” and problem solved.

He never had a wife, canonically (I believe that changes if you delve into the novels). I believe he was portrayed as being attracted to women in a couple of episodes, but I don’t see it as being a continuity-breaking issue. I assume that anyone can be attracted to anyone they want in the Trek universe.

Yey! I have been hoping for this since NuTrek started. Makes the whole thing sort of worth it.
