@blub: thanks for the correction and better explanation. I usually have a no Giz comments before 300-500 mg caffeine policy, but I saw $1000 and Red Camera in the same post and jumped :P
@cdeerinck: Ahh, yes.. a re-read and more coffee I suspect.. thanks for the correction guys.
$1000 IS a prosumer DLSR... just release it already ;)
Hypermac couldn't get a license to use the connector from Apple since they won't license the tech to anyone. What Hypermac does (and supposedly why the batteries cost so much) is buy new Apple power bricks and strip the Mag-safe connector side off. Then the attach their own connector to the opposite end which plugs…
@iAmWillJ: me too! And judging from the size of that damn web, I'd guess the wolf face is a 1:1 depiction
Yeah, he's only 5 now, but when he's 14 and stoned with a few friends there will be vidos flooding youtube/facebook with him feeding a garden hose up to the top and turning it into a waterslide or using some sort of silicon sheeting to go for slide speed records on the way to fridge munchies
I think it was Future Weapons that did a piece on this or a similar technology. The devs were able to create a shaped charge using water as the "projectile". They showed several variations of the device to demonstrate scalability. The most impressive was a large one that could cut through a shipping container in order…
@EvanSei (lord of the gerbils): I'm hoping for a camera attachment. Maybe on the end of a extension. It could open the door for other uses for the 30 pin connector.
Exact same thing was said about the HP Envy's when they launched.
@AreWeThereYeti: That was my first thought when I wondered if that was a PC fan guard for the grill, you're 100% right about high heat releasing toxic vapors in recycled, cheaply chromed metal. Same thing goes for over heating the teflon surface of a saute pan. I only grill on a cast iron hibachi style grill and won't…
@comrade_leviathan: Yeah, sorry, that was my age showing...but Eddie Murphy's Raw show still gets quite a few laughs from me.
This post is so full of Inya-endo...
It's amazing how high up the Aurora borealis goes. I never knew it went just about into space
@THE.MAC.GOD: Nice try.... the camera works fine... great even. As with all mass produced devices, there will be a batch or 2 with flaws, but the only consistant complaint is poor white balance at certain times(what is giving some indoor picture a yellowish or orange tint). It's a pain, but easy to fix in post. My…
@TheCrudMan: Ahh, right, forgot about the pancake and thanks for the heads up on the available adapters. Do you know if you still get AF and other features of the adapted lens?
@mconheady: True.. though they put an f2 lens on the s90 P/S cam so maybe there will be some trickle down headed to 4/3's
Would like to see some faster glass like a f2.8 or f4 all the way through on a 70-200 or 300mm for the Pen series, but after playing with an NEX-5, which has some crazy fast fps for it's class, I'm wondering what a nice fast lens would be like for that camera too.
Great if you want to look like that weird kid in 5th grade that would stick blue raspberry bubble yum in his ear so his mouth was free to eat boogers ....
@adlyb1: /bow ... :)
