Hawking's nonsensical comment needs to quit being thrown out every time this discussion occurs. It's an illogical assumption that holds no merit.

Charlize looks amazing in this! But I'm not sure they need to re-use the TRON Legacy soundtrack.

I enjoy the fact that many of the movies listed here contained puppets from the Jim Henson Creature Shop. The world is a lesser place without that man.

I think the writing is pretty much on the wall for him to move on. I only wish for once they would spring this on us as a surprise and not 8 months of teasing and building up to it.

RTD's greatest strength is also the source of his greatest weakness. He is the KING of the awesome cliffhanger, only to resolve it in the following episode in a matter of seconds and off-handed remarks.

"Blink" DEFINITELY is that episode for Doctor Who, but I would also like to submit Utopia as an appropriate follow-up. Blink is the "gateway drug" but Utopia gets you hooked. It crams so much of the shows mythology into one tight episode, and leaves off on such an amazing cliffhanger that it's impossible not to keep

"and Christopher Eccleston being tricked into doing it by being told the whole thing is a revival performance of Two Noble Kinsmen. " - This made me laugh out loud in public, but also sounds like the most logical way to wrangle Eccleston.

I've often wondered what a Matrix sequel would have been like if they had made The Merovingian the main antagonist. He could have been an old program who through his continued manipulation of the system, figured out all the hacks...all the exploits. And in doing so, actually possessed a power GREATER than Neo's.

There seem to be a few variations on Spike Lee's original definition. Your pickiness is valid, but I would lay money on George Nolfi (screen-writer/director) and probably more the studio purposely stepping as close to the line as they could without going over it.

Not really - it's a pretty common expression to describe an over-used storytelling cheat.

I will only watch if I have a signed affidavit from SyFy that this series will, in no way, contain a "magic negro" character. The film completely failed because of this archetype.

One of the big reasons I dislike the early series - the regenerations were total crap. The modern regeneration effect has 2 important things going for it....A. It's consistent (save for some minor refinement of details) and B. It actually makes logical sense. If the time lord body's natural reaction to impending

I know, right! Maybe because regeneration has become the show's "sacred cow" and it's much harder to suspend disbelief when it comes to "faking it."

It seems like no one is pointing out the elephant in the room...........how the hell is the Teselector supposed to regenerate!?? As we all saw it start to happen!

REALLY close 3-way tie between Lord of the Rings, TRON Legacy and Back To The Future. All 3 are the masterpieces of their own sub-categories so Best In Show will be tough.

Nolan should just pull a Lucas and digitally insert Pfeiffer's Catwoman into TDKR, and just wrap the story around her lines. That's really the only option at this point.

The scene where he runs into Amy & Rory was just brilliant, and another example as to how far this show has come in writing, cinematography and acting. And although, it was a bit of a steal from the end of Dr. Parnassus, Matt Smith makes these scenes almost heartbreaking and uniquely Who.

I'm surprised this article doesn't reference "Carnivale," one of HBO's best shows and easily one of the top 5 shows of the last decade. It's the PERFECT example for both your "expensive" and "thinky" reasonings...

Christian Bale is over 6 feet tall??? This can't be right. He was a shrimp compared to Hugh Jackman in the Prestige.

Really? No Mark Sheppard? REALLY??? Or was that just a forgone conclusion?
