Fences don’t always work. I have relatives who live in a nice gated community that is completely fenced in and the ponds inside are filled with gators. They remove them now and then, but they always come back

I bleached my hair for ~5 years with no ill effects. It was long, strong, and shiny. I went in for a touch up and the salon had a new, better bleach. They’d tried it on lots of people with great results. The nice new bleach melted off 6-8 inches of my hair. Its taken me 6 months to make my hair feel like hair again…
But that’s the irresponsible pet owner’s fault, not the breeders. I think, more than anything else, irresponsible pet owners ar to blame. They don’t bother doing research and they choose cute, trendy dogs instead of a dog that actually suits their lifestyle. Soon, corgis are going to be abandoned in droves because of…
Good breeders will take back any of the dogs they’ve bred if someone no longer wants them. I think good breeders are just less common than bad ones with more popular breeds
The problem is that all those people breeding pits and chihuahuas to excess absolutely refuse to stop, even though those two breeds are the vast majority of the dogs in our local shelters. They’re the kind of people who look askance when you have your pet fixed because they can’t imagine the hassle
My dad wore shorts to my parents’ wedding. Khaki shorts, a polo, and loafers. My mom worn a tea length summer dress. Despite being married in the 80s, their wedding photos really don’t look dated and they both look like themselves, not some fancy temporary facade.
It’s pretty good. They totally smacked down these critics in the ending part where they read letters from listeners. They also brought up that they get shit when they do “too many” episodes about POC
I organize my books by genre, then general mood, then author. It would be terrible if I needed other people to be able to find my books, but its great for a home bookshelf. Like, if I want a lighter, fluffier piece of fiction, there’s a section. I organize my poetry by country of origin though
Senior animals and very young animals are always an exception. But what I’m talking about are the people who have healthy, adult animals that have accidents all the time. One of my friends was proud that her 6 year old dog that she’s had since puppy hood only had 3 indoor accidents last week. That’s insane to me
A lot of people seem to define “housebroken” as “often goes to the bathroom where they are supposed to”. I can’t fathom the people whose pets have “accidents” multiple times a week but are housebroken
I wear a 40E and bralettes do not make my chest look good, but I still wear them a lot. They were all I could wear when I tried to heal a nipple piercing and they are much comfier
My chiropractor is a big believer in giving routines of exercises and stretches to do, which is definitely useful. It gives the patient a toolbox to use, rather than just the spectacle of popping joints.
I figure it was either a stray or someone let their own cat out to wander unsupervised. In any case, it all seems to boil down to human choices
I also have essentially no labia minora (I have very little skin down there generally) and I’ve always gotten the backhanded, “hey, you have such a pretty pussy, it’s a shame the rest of your body is so disappointing”
I suspect lack of any decent public transportation systems is part of why drunk driving is such a problem, but the cost of improving it to any great extent is really more than such a poor state can afford. I live in ABQ and the bus system is crap.
My aunt used to carry a shotgun when she went out for leisurely walks in Roswell, NM in case she ran into an aggressive rattlesnake. Their dog had been bitten by so many rattlesnakes that he stopped having problems after being bitten.
The carrier training and getting her used to being touched anywhere have been great in the long run. I never saw it on any cat websites but they also never said not to do it, so...*shrugs*
Part of it is her natural biddable intelligence, the other part is that I’d never had a cat, hadn’t anticipated getting one, and thought from my experiences with dog training that I should make the carrier a safe, fun space
She will quite happily hang out inside her little carrier if the door is left open.
For my cat, you just tap the top of the carrier and call her name. In she goes and no one is stressed
