Thank you for talking about modern Sonic and remembering Sonic Advance. You are a good person.

From the tone of his words, is "social game" really the best way to translate what he said? It seems like the connotation of that word is different here than there. Then again, I may just have a broader image of the moniker "social game" than most, since I don't play them.

If it plays Terranigma, consider it sold! I have a PAL copy that I am unable to play. :(

"Atlantica (Kingdom Hearts 2)"

It's not unreasonable. I still use my PSP as an MP3 player. It's better than spending more money on a second device.

I definitely agree. Although, considering your argument, I would probably say that they are the "purest form" of the RPG rather than the "highest evolution".

Do we not? It seems like there are new JRPGs every other month, most of them with some form of menu-driven combat. I guess it's just because it's purely turn-based? Maybe I'm wrong. I mostly play Puzzle and Adventure games, so I tend to only pick up a JRPG if it does something unique.

The first two Golden Sun games were great. A part of me really wants GS4, but another part of me is apprehensive that it would be as lackluster as Dark Dawn.

The highest? I mean, it's a reliable formula, sure. I'd love to hear your argument if you've got the time.

It doesn't, but it seems like everyone is making a big deal of a game that, unless I am mistaken, just looks like "more of the same".

Isn't Bravely Default just a traditional turn-based JRPG like 4 Heroes of Light was, or am I mistaken? Do we really need it that badly, or is this just a case of a high-profile Japanese company making a game and not releasing it here?

My heart. You just broke it.

I liked Last Story a lot. It reminded me of FFIV in the way it handled party members and progression.

PANDORA'S TOWER. MARCH 26. KOTAKU, Y U NO?

I didn't care for the original Tomb Raider series, mostly because of the way they handled 3D movement. Legend, though, ended up being one of my all-time favorite games, and I very much enjoyed Anniversary and Underworld. I'm skipping this for the time being, since I'm still playing catch-up from the games I bought in

Chrono is the main character from Chrono Trigger, and what it's referencing is a major plot point in the game. Ultros was one of the recurring villains in Final Fantasy VI.

OUCH.

I'm actually very happy that the PS4 will not be backwards compatible. Now I don't feel so bad for having bought a PS3 last week. Now I can wait a few years and buy a PS4 when the time is right. :3

Seeing as I just bought a PS3 two weeks ago, it would be pretty great if I got that too! I've had a PSP since 2009, so it's not like I'm new to PSN. :p

I don't understand this sentiment. The WiiU launch was excellent, and there's tons of great content on the way, but part of the cost of a strong Day 1 lineup is a weak lull directly after. It doesn't help that all the big games in Spring were never going to be on WiiU anyway. Just be patient, this is nowhere near as
