The point remains that there is no justifiable reason to put the lever between the seats for an automatic transmission.

For god’s sake, put the shifter on the tree if it’s an automatic! Am I the only one who thinks the shifter for an automatic being on the floor is idiotic? I don’t mind it there for a manual, my personal choice, but why waste the center console space? ...And that goes for any vehicle, in my opinion.
