I know we all want Goop to go away; but I think it’s here to stay, so we might as well just Gwyn and bear it.
Clover, this was so beautiful. <3 thank you
Based on that pic I will refer to him as Clairol Shag Mullett and nothing else.
Levin is a liberal? This is news to me! Seriously. That’s not sarcasm, even though it sounds like it haha.
Watching that interview again just rocked me - the gum! The hair! The emotional intensity! If I had to give an interview about “no longer being America’a sweetheart” while pregnant, while my first kid was so young, AND with smug Matt Lauer in front of me? I would be alternately weeping and screaming THE WHOLE TIME. …
For the record, I don’t give a damn about what products white people use in their hair. If that is your takeaway, then you’ve missed the point. Also, I cannot speak for other black people in Kinja, but I am not your ‘black people whisperer’. To the plethora of racists leaving comments, surely you have better things to…
I’d like to request a weekly podcast where the two of you sit down and talk about swoon over Harry, our new multihyphenate overlord. You should call it “He’s a star!”
“I know that astrology isn’t a science ... of course it isn’t. It’s just an arbitrary set of rules like chess or tennis ... The rules just kind of got there. They don’t make any kind of sense except in terms of themselves. But when you start to exercise those rules, all sorts of processes start to happen and you start…
But it was kind of still about her. She seemed to think Grover not nursing was a comment on his “feelings” about her. Getting Grover to nurse didn’t seem to about her wanting to make sure he got the best nutrition possible but instead a victory for her and proof in her mind Grover didn’t really hate her. I don’t know.…
Except they made “growing up” and motherhood hinge solely upon successful breastfeeding. Wow.
Thought Lena would have been a little more about women making choices. Formula vs. breastmilk is a choice, and as long as the baby is getting fed, it really is okay. It doesn’t “make” anyone a parent or a more mature person.…
What the fuck did I just watch? I’m going to pretend last week was the finale.
That’s the thing — I think that finishing with the penultimate episode would’ve been 100% satisfying. Some things break, some things are fixed, and you’re left with an idea of where it will go. It’d be way preferable to whatever this was. (imo! :) )
Watching this, I had that feeling you have when you find out some nice young kid you had a crush on from your high school developed a drug addiction and never moved of your home town or got a job or anything. It’s just a shame.
Yeah but a lot of the criticism was valid. The lily white Brooklyn, it is trapped in its quirks and then you get honest emotional episodes peppered in then the characters stay stuck. Yes that happens in real life but so do a myriad of other banal things that don’t make interesting tv. There’s a lot of bullshit…
Shout out to Loreen who was for sure the star of this episode and, had some of the best moments of the season.
I like the show, but I still think that it has some issues. A few episodes ago, she had Elijah audition for White Men Can’t Jump and make friends with a black woman — and in the post-episode recap thing, Dunham was talking how the black woman was his “spirit guide” — with apparently zero understanding of the trope of…
I think the series should’ve ended with the previous episode. This one... was mostly blah.
Is anyone else horrified at the idea of Hannah raising a brown boy? This kid is so screwed...
Hannah is the worst.
