Agreed, they ran E15 in TN this winter and my per-tank MPG took a noticeable dip. 2 MPG might not seem like much but when you are used to getting a certain number of miles per tank, makes a big difference - i.e. filling up at 320 miles instead of 350-360!
Even my Impreza weighs close to 3k lbs. I think official spec is like 2980 or something for the base model, and that’s just because it has less sound deadening, no fog lights, etc.
Nice job on the roadside fix! There’s no better feeling on a road trip than saving the day with a little elbow grease and know-how.
Big yikes on the immediate reply with “hey you damaged my car with pet hair, let’s talk off the app so you can pay me” within the same minute of submitting the rental return. For me that’s a response of “Nice scam, no pets went near this vehicle. I will charge back anything you add to the claim and cancel the card if…
This car came from the factory with 14" wheels. $1000 for wheels and tires? This car needs nothing more than the finest $50 Chinese all seasons and a set of junkyard steelies!
I know we’re all constantly in awe of “COVID pricing” in the car market, but as someone of Subaru persuasion this absolutely takes the cake. $2500 for a 300k mile, automatic, 25 year old Legacy Brighton is utterly off the wall. This was an $800-1000 car in 2019, *maybe*.
You can also run them on wastegate pressure on a TD04 (like 5-6 psi) and make 200hp safely with zero tuning and junkyard Subaru parts (WRX injectors + intercooler, maybe MAF/MAP).
The EJ22T is a fantastic motor. I used to crew for a team that competed in NASA rallies with a 1991 Legacy Turbo - it probably made all of 175 hp with the open downpipe and maybe low 200s torque but my god that car was fun.
NYC must be hell on cars. Multiple brake replacements at 88k miles is wild. I just did front pads for the first time @ 110k (granted it’s a 2017 Impreza...many highway miles). Have spent $0 “at the shop” the entire time I’ve owned it - other than the set of brake pads and doing the spark plugs at 75k I change the oil…
That’s a whole separate issue, U-Haul flat out refuses to put any trailer behind a Ford Explorer older than 2011. Between the Firestone tire debacle in the 90s and the attendant rollover issues they’ve chosen a blanket ban.
I still struggle to understand a lot of things that happen in planes. When I’m driving, I’m constantly scanning gauges, windshield, rearview, mirrors, back to gauges. Obviously in a plane, there’s not much to hit when steadily cruising but you’d think that you’d glance at the altimeter, airspeed and roll indicator at…
Even with today’s bonkers prices, a Blazer of this vintage is ND no matter the mileage. The powertrain may have only 56k on it but the rest of the truck is still early-00's GM and almost two decades out of the factory.
Bought a 2017 Impreza hatch, 5MT base model, CPO for $15.5k in October 2018. Now has 110k miles...checked Vroom last week and had an offer for $11k! Not planning to sell as I like the car and the pickings for $10-15k these days are pretty slim, value-wise.
Normally you can use them all at once, but you are still limited by the total fused wattage of the inverter. I think the standard is normally 400W these days, which is something like 30 simultaneous phone chargers (not accounting for inefficiency from heat or whatever). Most interior 12V ports are the same way - you…
Even better, could use the 1.5 “Dragon” Ecoboost from the Fiesta/Puma ST. 200 HP/210 lb-ft x 3 = more power than the original Viper and 630 lb-ft @ 1600 RPM. Burnout machine!
I added up everything on RockAuto and chose ACDelco or GM Genuine on everything suspension related. All 4 control arms, front shocks, bump stops, tie rods, drag link, idler arm, pitman arm, bushings, brake kit with pads + rotors (Power Stop “Daily Driver”), heater valve, the wheel seals and even spring insulators and…
One of the most common configurations of the F150 (supercrew short bed) has only 1 additional foot of bed compared to the Maverick. It’ll haul wood just fine.

As the owner of a manual Impreza 2.0i, can confirm. 150hp ain’t much these days.
