Could be, but it seems unlikely. Ashi seems like a human, not half demon. I think the "shock" is just that Jack cares about/loves her and Aku uses that against him.

Honestly, seeing how some of the big "twists" and "mature" storylines played out this season, I highly doubt they have the balls to kill someone off permanently. If Ashi or Jack dies, you just know the one left alive will save the other, no matter how implausible.

True, but…I can't even see Rick and Morty going for an Oldboy twist, and that is one of AD's most twisted shows

You mean the big shock in episode 9 being Ashi is Jack's bio kid? If they hadn't done the romantic angle it might've been possible, but I doubt it now. Can't see even Adult Swim pushing it that far. Either the "shock" is that Jack cares about Ashi and/ or she's knocked up.

I don't know, I'm expecting a deus ex machina happy ending now. Seems like so many of the potential emotionally volatile stories have gotten resolved so quickly that I don't now that they truly have the balls to permanently kill Ashi or Jack.

Who was bringing Asian male tropes into it? I can't speak for anyone else, but the main reason I'm not into the Jashi romance is because it doesn't feel like it had enough time to develop organically. More character and story development felt needed for me to feel any emotional attachment to them as a couple. I

It would raise my estimation as well, but considering how quickly other heavy plotlines were wrapped up (Jack's depression, the green horseman, Ashi entire past) I'm no longer holding my breath for some kind of deep, conflicted moral ending. It will all probably be resolved in 3 minutes or less.

Whenever someone equates happiness with being in a relationship, I can't help but wonder if they've ever been married lol. Cause even good relationships can be a real drag sometimes.

Well I meant Hollywood's idea of unattractive (pretty girl with glasses and nerdy clothes). Anyway, agree to disagree. Personally I wasn't so much against Jack and Ashi at all, I just think the writing for it hasn't been the greatest with the huge time restraints. With a little better writing and more time I could've

True, but typically those kind of female characters are very much background characters and a lot of times they aren't"attractive". How many leading attractive female characters don't end up with one of the leading males?

I agree that some disappointed fans are being slightly unreasonable, but I get why people aren't thrilled with the lighting quick Jack and Ashi hookup. It does feel rushed and cliche, to the point that some of us feel it doesn't add much to the story. Jmo but I thought a better way to go would've been to give us

I thought the foreshadowing was rather vague, so I was split 50/50 on which way it could. Guess I'm just used to anvils being hurled at me lol.

That's my problem to, Ashi's mental age and her starting off as stunted, abused, and brainwashed and that having no baring a few episodes later. I sort of wish now that they would've presented her differently, as a normal(ish) adult who would've been on equal footing from Jack from the start. That and the rushed

Not to mention a huge rush job. I hope if the romance does play out it is very, very subtle. Them going from t just barely being acquainted to fullblown relationship would feel very forced.

I mean, I think there has to be something behind Cult Mama, or else the focus on her and her cult seems kind of pointless. I also think the fact we've never seen her face is pretty interesting.

No way did Cult Mom die that easily, not when there is still so much mystery about the cult.

In my mind I see Ashi's mom calling Aku endlessly on the phone and Aku cowering in a corner in fear.

My personal opinion, but the vibe between them hasn't been anywhere near romantic and it feels like they have been contrasting how "young" she is against how mature Jack is. To go from that to full on romance in less then 4 episodes would be very jarring and rushed.
