Texture isn’t the right word. It makes the soup zesty. More emollient.

Ok. I’ll be honest. I thought I’d read just about everything there was to read on this case. But I guess I stopped reading about 3 years ago. How time flies. Because I missed both of these testimonies. I’ve got to say, both of these men sound very credible to me. The fact that they “denied under oath” being molested,…
Could go either way, honestly. Respectability politics and all. It’s not really the point. The point is that she’s not a Black anchor. Hopefully whoever hears the case is smart enough to understand that the significance of statements depend on context.
This is nonsense. Cosby did it. We have victim testimony.
I totally think a glass of wine + Ambien + a night terror could do this to you. I’ve never taken Ambien but I’ve heard that the delusions they give some people are particularly violent. It sucks because, since this is an actress, there will be gossip about drug abuse/spousal abuse no matter what. But really, lots of…
I have to disagree. All things being equal (by which I mean the conditions in which the animal is raised, and how they are killed) I don’t think killing a cow is the same as killing a dog. There is mounting evidence that domestic dogs are neurologically primed to exist as social entities, not in dog culture, but in…
What are you? A scientist?
But what you are missing is that gazpacho, when prepared correctly, does contain cooked tomatoes in a way. Because the tomatoes, like fish in ceviche, are supposed to “cook” in the acids from the lemon juice that you introduce to them at some stage.
People here are writing about how they only like “hot” tomato soup because hot and cold tomatoes taste different. But a good gazpacho, in my opinion, is “cooked” in a sense. Like with ceviche, the tomatoes aren’t really raw. They cook in the acids of the lemon that you steep them in first, or that you squeeze into the…
It’s not really. The SB police like to periodically revisit the case because... well, they were humiliated by it.
Read my last post. I still don’t believe he was a monster.
If it makes you feel any better, I am skeptical. I’m from Santa Barbara and I have family that worked for a long time in family law practices there, including with lawyers who have represented the “victims” as adults (for unrelated reasons). My understanding is that most people in the legal community don’t believe…
My first reaction to this was “Fuck you Chrissy Teigen.” But now I really am so concerned that she might not have had good gazpacho. To me, one of keys to a great gazpacho is cucumber. Tiny squared cucumber gives it just the right amount of crunch. I also add a dash of vinegar and a dash of fresh honey, not so much to…
That’s definitely true to an extent. But I honestly think that nothing trumps inherent physical attractiveness or unattractiveness in skewing people’s perceptions of ability. And I would also say that while dressing appropriately impacts perceptions, a lot, failing to dress appropriately has even more of an impact.
I think people are just doing what they do on this site, and either making this about them, “I have a learning disability and I...” or making this into an opportunity to demonstrate that they are progressive, “I know that people with learning disabilities can be full participants in civil society!”
This is all true. But it should be pointed out that an intellectual disability is not necessarily more debilitating than a learning disability. Sometimes people with very low IQs can make better use of their intelligence than people who can’t form abstractions, can’t generalize, can’t imagine different outcomes, etc.
Your post is misguided and heartbreaking to people who actually understand learning disabilities.
Right. And I would add that people always project more competency onto physically attractive people than unattractive people. One of my company’s client’s was an Anne Hathaway type physically. People just literally did not believe that she was disabled.
I used to work with adults who had guardianship over other adults with learning and developmental disabilities. People just don’t understand that someone can be nice, smart in many ways and appear put together... and actually be totally without responsibility in determining the course of their lives. I blame the…
Well, that’s just clinically false. The difference between a learning disability and other developmental disabilities is not how severely they impact you.
