I’m glad the Root addressed this, but I would’ve preferred if the original author had reflected on his own take and the danger of the benefit of the doubt being extended to other men on a subject like this one, where sexism and racism so often intersect even for men who were possibly well meaning. Because it was

As someone who used to do shovelware titles for Nintendo DS (which are def much less expensive than a 3DS AAA title): more than you think.

I was listening to the last deabte as I was driving home and when Yang said, “I’m Asian, so I know a lot of doctors”. I actually said, “holy shit”. I’m Jewish and I’ll make jokes like Yang did, but I wouldn’t do it in mixed company.

Even if she actually is just one of the dumbest humans alive (which says a lot about the quality of our police forces!)—she proved herself to be a dark soul when she didn’t even try to save the man’s life after shooting him. Her immediate concerns were covering her own ass, not protecting life.

She didn’t accidentally draw a gun and shoot a man without zero assesment of the situation. She then didn’t accidentally stand around while he bled out. If she had walked in that apartment and saw a white face no one would have gotten shot. She’d have apologized for her mistake and left. Fuck her and fuck you to.

She shot first and asked questions later. Tell me, if a black man had busted into the wrong apartment and shot a white woman before even trying to figure out why the apartment DIDN’T have his OWN stuff in it, and then failed to render aid even though he was trained how to do so, would you be defending him to this

I am fucking shocked, not because I ever doubted for one fucking second she was guilty of murder, but because I didn’t think there was a chance in hell she’d be convicted. I was already talking myself in to settling for being satisfied if they got her on manslaughter. I can’t say I’m happy about the verdict cuz I’d

Pokimane is a person and not some old person trying to say the name of a Nintendo game?

They certainly weren’t going for any kind of physical similarities in appearance with the castings. You’d never guess that Sumpter would grow up to look like Smith.

Why Esther insists on making this issue her Waterloo is beyond me.

I remember being a teen and being stupid and impressionable. Part of me is just like, teens are always going to do dumb things.

About 13 years ago I was a smoker looking to quit. E-cigs seemed like a way for me to have the physical sensation of smoking which I missed with nicotine gum or a patch. At that time e-cigs came in graduated nicotine levels INCLUDING ZERO NICOTINE. The fact that Juul refuses to offer a zero nicotine product says to

This leads me to my biggest question about Vaping. I see a ton of people say they used Vaping to quit smoking, however, did those people then go on to quit vaping? It seems like most continue to vape as an alternative to smoking.

Esther, man,

Franken wants people now to entertain the possibility that the investigation would have exonerated him, even though back then he knew  it wouldn’t so he resigned. He’s trying to play on some fake plausible deniability - which is just shady and gross as fuck.

I have, thanks. But awesome that you equate sexual coercion of an adult to a multi-millionaire senator with multiple lawyers at his disposal choosing to resign before he was investigated!

He felt pressure. He chose to resign in response to that pressure. Ultimately that decision was his. I don’t blame him for being angry at his colleagues for the pressure but I also won’t accept that anyone else is responsible for the decision.

what is anyone apologizing to him for?

The lie is “I just couldn’t stay.”  Yes.  Yes, he could.  In fact, he had to in order for the process to play out.  There was a process and he didn’t stick around for it, and why is that anyone else’s fault.  He was a wealthy, fifty-something senator.  He wasn’t denied anything.  He resigned.
