For what it's worth, I really enjoyed Ghostbusters, though I haven't seen it since the ’90s and I'm a little afraid to revisit it. I liked Lost In Translation and Groundhog Day and Scrooged. I don't hate Murray, and I don't hate or avoid movies just because he's in them. But I don't find his shtick automatically funny…

They don't. There's a whole thing about how human blood is too fatty and they use blood substitutes. Silly, but kind of necessary to address in a movie where the vampires are supposed to be the humane, non-dangerous ones and humans are scary.

There's actually a kind of funny running gag throughout the film about how he never said "Bleh! Bleh!", doesn't know where that stereotype comes from, and finds it embarrassing.
