Who's Johnny? There was this one guy named Johnny, but he was a total geek, he always had food in his braces.

That's a REALLY weird typo, considering that "Jando" isn't a name appearing anywhere else here. Best guess is that at some point, someone editing or posting this doc was typing and didn't realize they had the wrong window open. I've fixed it; thanks for the heads-up.

The photo is a crop from one edition of the book cover, but I can see it looking odd on its own. I'll try to get our web producer to put the whole book cover (which is vertical, naturally, so doesn't work as a main image) into the text as an inline image, so the source and relevance are clearer.

It was SO much like "Peter's Friends," which had a similar soap-opera problem with people screaming in hysterical rage at each other one minute, saying unforgivably hateful things to each other the next, then apologizing and moving on as if it was no big deal the minute after that. There's even an "I love you, I want

That's because you don't have to watch him be a screaming, mid-life-crisis-experiencing selfish ass for two hours. Muteness and immobility go a long way toward making a character sympathetic.
