They asked Virginia Madsen about Electric Dreams a few years back as she played the love interest Miles (and Edgar) were attracted too and she admitted to crushing pretty hard for ol Lenny and still held a torch for him even to that day. Said he was an outright gentleman and hearthrob.

Yes. First thing I thought of. The precursor to Her.

Yeah, that was my intro to Mr Von Dohlen. I remember he was a good mad scientist on an episode of the 1990 Flash. RIP

Man, that movie has been forgotten. But I think it was, along with Wargames, one of the first movies to feature the new concept of “home computers”. And both imagined that human-level AI would be possible on machines with probably less computing power than your current microwave.

This isn’t really a comment. Nor is it a pre-comment. It’s kind of a teaser of a pre-comment to be commented at a later time than now.

You had me at D’Arcy Carden.

It’s a pizza with a piece missing! Oh, wait, that’s Pac-Man.

Attack the Block

I see why people would like this, but I enjoy the immersion of characters having animations to do things, so it isn’t something I’ll turn on.

This. Is. Ridiculous.

Also thought he was lying and was genuinely shocked when Yoda confirmed it. I didn’t understand how movies work.

Are we really looking forward to “Choo Choo Charles”? It looks like another crappy “horror” game designed almost exclusively for streamers to play on stream and scream a bunch while doing it. Crap like Five Nights at Freddys.

Horizon: Forbidden West. It’s been five years and I cannot wait.

Are we not anticipating Horizon: Forbidden West?

Great film that bridges the blind conservative optimism of Ronald Reagan with the right-wing outrage machine on the eve of Newt Gingrich’s Contract With America.

Always is probably the only feature of film of his that I wouldn’t go “thumbs up” on, on the balance. Hook and 1941 and Crystal Skull are down there, but I’d give them the gentleman’s pass if I were on an Ebert-style program. Always just misses for me, though I’m sympathetic to anyone who likes it as I do like most

The performances are good and the fire flying effects are fantastic.

I loved the movie when I saw it around the same age; it strokes kids’ egos. I remember later as a teenager I read a Newsweek* article that claimed there was going to be a Hook 2 set in the NYC subway and being excited. That this movie never materialized leads me to suspect the piece was a joke. *Ask your parents.

Same. The movie might not be great, but Dreyfuss, Goodman and Hunter are fantastic.

Spielberg movies that are worse than Hook
