I just saw it this past weekend - it's on exhibit in the Fantasy display at the EMP museum in Seattle, right with a couple of the swords from Princess Bride.
I read Phantom Tollbooth, Wrinkle in Time, and The Hobbit all around the same time (4th, 5th grade) and they all made a real impact but the first book that really set its hooks in me was Arthur C. Clarke's "Childhood's End".
