There was a period of my childhood in the 70's where my father would put on the soundtrack to Jonathan Livingston Seagull every Sunday morning before making breakfast. Damned if I can't still hum along with the entire album.

I was saddened to discover recently that the woman who played Siren, Shelley Beattie, committed suicide after a long struggle with bipolar disorder/depression.

Anyone who knows and loves the music of post-Dire Straits Mark Knopfler or Chris Smither is a friend of mine.
