Same here. I also have BPD and am seriously baffled at the way people view it/me. I think it’s a mixture of ignorance and assholery.

I’m going to guess that the risk of getting caught is pretty high on the list of motivators for behavior like this so saying he’d never do it because he’d know he was likely to get caught doesn’t really hold water.

I am so sick of personality disorders being the be all end all scapegoat. I have BPD, and it seems like one of the last mental illnesses people are totally cool with stigmatizing. Like I understand that people with personality disorders have all these symptoms and whatnot, but you can’t just throw BPD in to justify…

Morphine can cause hallucinations but how about getting test results before you victim blame? Hmmmmm? Dummies.

These apologists is why victims of abuse don’t come forward. Just because someone has had years of training at a medical school, seminary or law school doesn’t preclude them from being molesters or deviants preying on the vulnerable.
