With respect, I think you should double check the legal standards surrounding the fair use doctrine. One of the most important considerations determining whether the doctrine is in play is whether the user is making use of the IP for allowable purposes (educational, artistic, etc.) or making use of it for profit.

How about this as a compromise?

I can't believe you cited that awful sequence in the Space Pirate lab without noting the #1 most terrifying thing about it.

What are the odds that there's any sort of bundle deal forthcoming w/r/t the new Pokemon games and a 3DSXL? I'm willing to wait until Black Friday if it means significant savings, but if it's not likely I may just have to dive in this weekend.

Really dumb question here. I will be buying Rayman Legends for the Wii U, but because those daily challenges from the free demo (which I play pretty much every day) will remain a part of the full game, I feel like it'd be worth my while to get the digital version, so as to avoid a whole lot of disc-swapping.

I'm not sure how to do the Ikea thing. Does the coupon come in the mail with the catalog? I'm taking a road trip this weekend to a place that has an Ikea, so it'd be foolish not to take advantage here.

Come on, the right joke there is "Let's put the 'bone' back in 'xBone'".

Can someone discuss the differences between the Wii Classic Pro Controller offered here and the Wii U Pro Controller I often see bandied about for about three times that much? Will the Wii version work for any Wii U games that use the Pro Controller?

Yeah, I went ahead and did it. It feels reckless to buy a thing I never knew existed before a few hours ago, but it's not even close to worth it to try waiting a couple of months for the price to drop like $5 or whatever.

It was saying that a few minutes ago, but now it looks to be in stock again. I'm hovering over the "Submit payment" button trying to see if I can come up with a good reason not to buy it. None so far.

Google Play store says that you get 3 free months of Netflix with this, and it can be applied to an existing account. At $8.95 a month that means I'd be looking at an effective marginal cost of $8.15 for this device. I can't wait for it to get back in stock.

Read that as "Dog-destroying Shadow". Phew. This is much better.

I was super excited about the Pokedex app until I realized that it only gives you the Gen V Pokemon. Every other region is $3.99 worth of in-app purchases. Be warned.

I'd be curious to see how perceptions of "droughts" vary among age groups and even possibly climate. When I was in high school and college and even grad school, I'd have WAY more time to play video games during the summer because I'd only have my summer job/internship to worry about. So the selection would look more

^ Spoiler alert!

There's a line (and admittedly, certain changes in the game industry such as the rise of microtransactions and DLC have made that line harder to discern) between complaining about people who have your money, and complaining about people who don't have your money.

I totally get what you're saying, but there is a lot of overlap between the two, to the point that it's often hard to tell the difference.

I can think of a term that I like a bit less than "gamer entitlement". It starts with a "C".

I've never heard of Rob Delaney. But he is my new favorite.

As several others have noted, it's a plot point of the games, and you see this arising in the comics a fair bit as well, that many people are placed into Arkham despite not being insane, by the book.
