Yeah, Kira and the post-occupation storyline are fantastic TV

I hate to mix my fandoms, but every word of what you just said is wrong... except the bit about Kira’s costume - Trek has a long history of silly outfits.

The first two seasons of DS9 got a lot of guff when they aired, and the narrative since is that the show, much like TNG, didn’t hit its stride until season 3. And while that remains true, to an extent, it’s really a disservice to the first two seasons of DS9, which have, if anything, aged quite well, and are actually…

And how can I forget Lower Decks? The Trek show that shines a mirror on the entire franchise and proceeds to roast it while still being cannon. *chef’s kiss*

Maybe it’s because there’s just so much sci-fi out nowadays. Back in the 90s, there really wasn’t a show that could match Star Trek’s mix of mature storylines, well-rounded characters, and decent production values. Some shows had one or two of those qualities, but not all of them.

Such an underappreciate show. Even with as good as ST Picard and Discovery are DS9 still has my two favorite episodes of any Star Trek series, Far Beyond the Stars and The Pale Moonlight. Absolutely fantastic show. 

Ahhh!!! Rewatching this scene right now. So good! 

Goosebumps scene! Two powerhouse dramatic actors just elevating everything! Picard getting verbal body blows and a hard right by Sisko was chefs kiss level.

In retrospect, its incredible that Starfleet allowed Picard to retain his rank and command post de-assimilation.
