I think its started to change, but a lot of pickup trucks and vans used to come with drum brakes on the rear. I think most vehicles still have drum brakes in the parking break on the rear wheels. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if all of your white vans with Joe’s Pluming on the side didn’t still have rear drums.

This is dumb and I hope whatever judge ends up with the case throws it out.  Everyone understands that old cars aren’t as safe as new cars.  That’s the risk you take getting in one.  The 720HP might have helped cause the accident, but almost certainly because he was breaking the law by going over the speed limit to

Nice Price: That price is a Triumph.

Out Indefinitely

Oh I doubt you can get the cam out without removing the engine, so if you went to the trouble of pulling just go ahead and get a cheap 5.3 or 4.8 LS and swap it.

I say send him to Miami and let him toil away on an even worse team, at least he could enjoy South Beach.  It’s two games into the season the team is scrambling to get a rookie QB who looks to have some promise up to speed and you’re behaving like a 3 year old who isn’t getting enough attention after mommy and daddy

Go look at a 1969 - 1973 C3 rear end and a 1974 onward (or just come back to this page).  5mph bumper regulations forced the C3 to get collagen injections in its ass in 1974.  The Cargo rack is by far less egregious than what happened between 73 & 74.

Okay I’m exaggerating a little, but still it’s a turd that’s not worth the ask.

Exactly, so why not start with something that has a few more miles on it so you can go cheaper.  Screw paying what is essentially top dollar for a Mehvette.

He also wants you to spend near enough $8k for a car that probably needs a bunch more work. This is maybe a $4k car before you reupholster the seat, fix the AC, and fix whatever other “minor” problems a car that has 30k miles, but has sat for the better part of 40 years has.

You would still probably want a rowdier cam shaft and a better set of heads to really get it ripping. Then probably want upgrade the ignition system. Then you might be making 350-400HP if you’re lucky, but you’re still bolted to a 3spd automatic and your gas mileage has plummeted to just about 10 - 14mpg (again if

The only reason is because cheap low mileage Corvette. Corvette people are delusional, I know a guy who has a ~11k mile Z06 C5 sitting in his garage and he thinks it’s going to be mad collectible, so he doesn’t drive it. The thing is almost 20 years old and even at that low mileage its still worth about half what it

Yeah, but if you’re going to go through the effort of wrecking the originality you could get something a whole lot cheaper as a starting point.

I CP’d on principle I suppose, since it’s right in line with similar condition cars. Anemic power, worse styling than the original C3(which I know are more expensive), and an auto-tragic transmission. I think at about half the ask I might give the tires a kick. This is too expensive to yank the drive train and build

Man by the time you got done, buying, importing, taxing, registering, and all that you would probably be almost 10Gs into that thing.  Granted you could probably sell it for 15.  It’s a pipe dream since even the $5,500 would probably put me in the doghouse with the little lady.

Exactly.  These are so cool, but to get one here you would have to be a demented fool...I mean enthusiast.

You would post that Doka up there.  I wish you could get one of those stateside for not stupid money.

Not saying it can’t make 500K miles, but there will be issues.  All cars will have issues trying to get that far and it being a Merc can lead to an expensive repair bill if you don’t fix it yourself.  Repairing that seat alone would probably cost about half the purchase price of the car if you took it to a Merc

When I first heard that Wake was playing UNC in a nonconference matchup I had to scratch my head in confusion. Then I remembered this was the ACC where the split conferences really don’t matter since they were a vain attempt at making the UM vs FSU game every year mean something and both teams have done their level
