Except, no. The Voltec system does not mechanically drive the wheels in any circumstance. It literally is not capable of doing so.  The engine only works as a generator and can provide electricity directly to the electric motors that drive the wheels when additional power is needed.

“Enough” is subjective enough that a range. Enough as defined by “provided 75% of my weekly needs with a Level 2 home charger” Then I’d only need about 70 real miles of range as that would cover my round trip commute to work.
