This is just a really interesting problem. I think the article does a great job of showing both sides of the issue, too.

You know, I disagree too, but seeing as how this is a review, I think it's pretty obvious it's his opinion.
The problem I have is that they claim to be journalists (see: stolen iPhone situation), and yet they then post stuff like this. They found an interesting quote and passed in on, sure. But to rip it completely out of context is another thing. They can keep the headline and the first paragraph for page clicks — just…
Agreed. As I said, I think siri is pretty cool, and I wouldn't mind having something like it on an android phone.
We have to click-through to get an accurate representation of the situation? That seems pretty weak.
Wow, take things out of context much? He does go on to say that he basically sees some merits in it, and thought apple did a good job of timing the release until it was ready for consumers.
The thing is, people say the same thing about iOS. The new notification system, for instance, is a great example. It's called competition — when a feature comes out, other people want to have it too. And some of the stuff you listed for the iPhone was out on other stuff before the iPhone got it. That's jut the…
Is it stealing from WebOS if the designer built that too? I don't really see the iPhone ui in there either. Mango I do see a bit, but it's definitely different from that, too.
I was thinking about this the other day — is that the definition of trickle down? Rich people hire super poor people to cut their grass? Sweet! Now because that guy has 20 million dollars, 3 guys can work for minimum wage! Awesome!
This is that lovely vertical integration at work. "But vertical integration is awesome! It lets them make things super cheap and makes the devices awesome, blah blah."
Making the galaxy tab thinner because the ipad2 was super thin can't be considered stealing, or mimicking though. Thinness is a feature that companies SHOULD compete on. That's what competition is supposed to be about. Sure, it makes Samsung look stupid since they didn't think "wow, we should really make this as…
Samsung has one problem:
Probably a race condition on a semaphore. Frickin semaphores.
I would bet that Q1 is more like March, which puts it at almost half a year, which wouldn't be so crazy. Especially if it's got a pixel-qi type screen, which is probably why they are so excited about it.
Did Zuck really compare it to everyone having their own blog? Because, really, that's what I want to see. 500 million blogs of people trying to make themselves look as cool as possible. Awesome.
Umm. Yeah. He just said "We used to give links, but now we give answers." That about sums it up.
Agreed. It really comes down to how the government defines "competition." Is there competition with the appstore? No. But there is competition with entire different operating systems, so apparently it's ok that Apple doesn't allow any competition.
They USED to not be, but apparently they have since made sparks into a search based thing. If you type something into the search bar, you can now sort by Everything, People, Google+ posts, and Sparks. It's actually a lot better now. Thanks for (indirectly) pointing that out!
How many of their products get placed first that wouldn't be first already? If I type email, I kind of except gmail to be first. In fact, I would imagine gmail should be first on bing or yahoo too, since way more people use gmail than yahoo or hotmail. Gmail is the defacto standard for free email. It should be…
$10 for any smartphone, regardless.
