The audience are all the misogynists who haven’t actually gotten past thinking that this kind of lifestyle isn’t merely acceptable, but the pinnacle of all that a man could hope to achieve, the ultimate alpha male treating women (OK, all people) around him the way God intended. It will consistently reinforce MRA

Agreed—hair metal sucked fucking rocks, but I’d argue that it was barely metal (also a bit of a metalhead in the eighties, although I was more into glam metal and prog metal). There’s a lot going on in metal, a lot of worthwhile sub-genres. It’s not just the documentaries that are interesting.

Oh man, Strange Days was one of favorite movies in the 90's. Hadn’t thought about it in a while until now though, thanks.

I’d probably like this episode more if it was revealed that The Orville is actually stealthily building toward an overarching theme on the destructive and addictive nature of simulations, a’la Strange Days or Existenz.

The reviewer has a turd for a heart. I thought this was a touching episode. It grew Gordon’s character further as a lonely soul, of which we’ve had hints previously.

I thought this packed in more humanity than any version from the Star Trek franchise.

You mean overblown hyperbole.  Also mandatory is “slap in the face” being included in any forum post.

Oh fuck off, this wasn’t edited to twist her words, the pretentious bullshit coming out of her mouth is entirely her own.

Confession time. I’m a Washington Post and Slate troll, but not that kind. I look at it like this: these guys don’t care and/or don’t want to hear facts, figures, arguments, etc. There’s no mind changing. So I have a little fun instead.

They have a real problem with Toxic Moclaninity.

The Japanese man and his mother killed me. The nervousness of telling her, and her shame at having a real moment where she felt she failed him, and he’s just like “I understand this is a change, I just want my mom.” It was eyeopening how universal the fear of coming out still is.

I used to catch her show Gaycation on Vice and it was great. There was one episode where she went to Iowa in 2015 and confronted Ted Cruz on his anti-LGBTQ bullshit and it was beautiful. She’s a treasure.

Yeah I’m sure there were cavemen who never revisited their one night stand’s caves, but “ghosting” as a term is probably 10-15 years old.

I would like to mention that just this morning I was in the room (major network); out the mouth of one of my co-workers, at least 3 weird and creepy serial killer rape jokes (involving a manequin being undressed). It seems nothing has changed because these dick-faces still think all of it is fine and they don’t

Well it’s 240 characters and the other side is weaponizing twitter whether we want to converse there or not. So engaging your constituents via many different avenues seems pretty reasonable to me.

The responses are fucking insane. I can’t see how anyone finds it offensive to suggest it’s better that a grown man intervene when a school kid is being beat up by a gang of kids?

I’ve been diving deep into discussions about this ad on my social media lately and men still can’t tell me why they are specifically upset about this commercial.  It just gets sidetracked about politics, religion, etc.

Hahaaa, I totally forgot about that! So did everyone else, I daresay— our minds blotted it out in self-defense.

Fuck Louis. Fuck his come back.

Thank you, Wende.
