I can't speak for other trans people, but at least for me, I would rather my trans status neither be a point of attraction nor a deal breaker. My preference is for it to be considered completely irrelevant. But that's just me.

So two friends of yours should dictate that millions of other women should be treated like idiots? What bullshit. And fuck your waiting period, too. Are you really daft enough to think that most women schedule abortions like one would schedule a pedicure?
According to federal law, it is legal to import a 90-day supply of any non-scheduled drug. If she had not given these pills to her minor child, there would have been no illegality here. In fact, they had to look for months to even find something they could charge her with in order to make an example of her.
My point was that I find it hard to believe that somebody with some form medical training didn't know that giving a random pill purchased on the internet to her daughter was illegal.
It's like Roe v. Wade never happened. How wonderful.
I'm not saying she had a choice, I probably would have done the same thing if I were in her desperate situation. But I would know that I was breaking the law while doing it.
I've honestly never seen someone use that quote to be a dick and I'm going to pretend that I don't now have this knowledge. That's a huge bummer as the quote has been personally inspirational.
Really? I thought it was obnoxious and exemplifies the up-its-own-ass qualities of feminism that drive people away.
Why do we only ask female pop stars if they are feminists (and then wring our hands when they do not answer how we want them to)? I do not recall anyone asking Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, or a Drake if they are feminists...
you just made Monday morning memorable and worth waking up for.
Well, neither typewriter nor Atari is likely to be the only thing to get you out of a bad situation.
Holy shit, way to prove me right. Seriously?!
Oh god this old argument again. All of these things you are angry about? Feminism would love to fix them, no seriously. You know why more men die in industrial accidents? Women haven't been allowed to play. And please don't act like you are oppressed because the patriarchy pays more attention to breast cancer. That's…
If car companies cared about female drivers and their individual needs, they would work on a convenient space to put a purse or make seats/offer better seating options for shorter drivers, who tend to be women, but the color pink is absolutely condescending. I say that a a woman who likes pink. If car manufacturers…
No, not "What the fuck" actually. It is actually extremely misogynistic. You're not that dense. They are literally reducing the buying power of women to an extension of their makeup. I like watermelon, I like grape; if a company comes up with a line of "urban" soda, targeting African-Americans, only offered in…
Kat - here is a potentially interesting research project for someone like yourself, or Torchinsky too. Has there ever been a Barbie Corvette where Barbie was driving a proper 3 pedal, 6 speed manual? In heels of course.
Ah, but it isn't a two way street and it isn't a level playing field. That's kind of the whole point about institutionalised oppressive frameworks. It's not that unfair messages about or towards men aren't publicised, but rather there's an increasing acknowledgement that the playing field is very much tilted.
Women as a whole or women who have other traits in common, Dick? Because that's the issue here: universalising the experiences of women to lock them into some sort of "woman demographic." You need to start talking about intersections here. Age and class are two big ones you should immediately be considering.
When I came out, my mom told me:
Instead of a ring, get her an engagement revolutionary war musket
