I mean, I’m not a workplace productivity expert, but I can pretty much guarantee you that this is yet another an instance of them coming up with elaborate rationalizations to justify an aesthetic preference.

I disagree! I think Johnny and Tara are great. They do a good job explaining the byzantine scoring system and are willing to be critical in a way that most sports commentators just aren’t. I’ve never really given a shit about the figure skating but I watched a lot of it this year because of them.
Neverending chatter? They are basically silent during the performances.
Also, for what it’s worth, I have never had a problem with the pace of baseball games. I like that they’re long and slow.
It’s very hard to watch this video—and especially this video, which zeroes in on Redick’s message—and not wonder whether J.J. Redick is, in fact, trying to smuggle an insult into what is otherwise meant to be a greeting.
She stated that she started to feel the costume falling apart, and “I prayed.”
Here’s the thing: you aren’t going to believe me until you look it up yourself, but Nash was a better three point shooter, a better free throw shooter, and had the better effective field goal percentage. Allen did have the better over FG%, but the thing Allen is remembered for? Nash did it better.
7 x All-NBA, 8 x all star, ranks 3rd in career assists, top 20 all time in offensive rating, top 100 all time in a bunch of other categories. His body of work is much better than “great for four or five years”. I think your broader point is well taken, but you’re off on Nash.
8x All-Star; 7x All-NBA; 5x assists leader (averaged double digits 7x; 3rd total all time); 4x 50-40-90 (most all-time); 2x MVP; highest career FT percentage. Those are HoF accolades.
another way to look at it: the NBA is already the most elite league of all professional sports leagues. it has the smallest rosters, and even making into the NBA makes you incredibly, absurdly good at basketball. thus, if you stand out in the NBA — you are a legend. i would argue even making into the NBA makes you a…
Grant Hill is in as much for his college career as anything else. Its the Basketball Hall of Fame, not the Pro Basketball HOF.
I understand your sentiment. People like Mitch Richmond and Bernard King make me scratch my head. But Steve Nash is a no brainer. 2x MVP. Led the league in assists 5 times. And my favorite stat: Has 4 of the 11 50-40-90 seasons.
Every league MVP in NBA history has made the hall. You win one and you’re in. The player that will probably break this streak is Derrick Rose.
Nash is a no-doubter, don’t know what you’re talking about here... I’d put him roughly on par with J Kidd as a HOF candidate and ahead of Ray Allen. He won two mvps (even if one or both of those could have gone to Dirk). He wasn’t merely great for four or five years- he was an all-time elite shooter and passer who…
He’s a two time league MVP. I think that alone makes him a lock.
He probably tells his tailor he’s 6'3.
Any mention on the range of the wireless headset? For example, can my PC be in an adjacent room?
I’m wondering how they ever actually get any soccering done if they stop every time someone goes down holding their head.
The real lulz is that tweet was almost certainly written by one of his over-eager staffers. I can’t imagine McCain paying that close attention to his follower count. I have my issues with him, but he’s never been one to care about that kind of minutiae.
