I think it's important to recognize that this is a TLC 'reality show' and, while i don't doubt that some of the people living these lifestyles have skewed ideas or reality and some anti-feminist ideals, the producers probably sculpt the show to fit into their own ideal, not the true reality for these people.

I kind of agree but i also kind of think, why not have a solution before they bury their children so that when they lay their kids to rest they at least know that something has changed.. too little, too late, maybe, but positive change is always good.

I totally see where you're coming from but let's face it, those professions are inherently different. I'd say it's more like asking a doctor friend for a diagnoses over the phone in order to avoid going to the walk in. which i'm sure happens ALL.THE.TIME.
