That Uninmog is no Unimog, but a Zetros, apart from the cab these share very little. The Zetros is a rigid frame, conventional axle heavy duty truck, the Unimog has portal axles on a twist frame and much less payload.
Getting Z8 vibes in that rear; absolutely gorgeous
Citroën didn't allow a four cylinder or a four door. They had to wait for the GS which is the car Panhard would have liked to make
I know someone with a 24BT. It’s a fascinating car. And really handsome. It’s a shame Panhard never had the money to develop a 4 cylinder motor, but they still managed to get 50 horsepower out of the flat twin in these.
Not to take away from David’s article, but as some of you know, the staff has come under some fire from Gizmodo Media’s new ownership group. One of the staff writers over at Deadspin was recently fired and changes have been made that directly conflict with the staff’s CBA. In solidarity with the union, I have changed…
It was marginally larger than the Mk I Golf/Rabbit, but there was very little in it. The interior certainly felt more spacious.
The Renault 5 is a beautiful work of automotive sculpture, that is essentially timeless on account of its simplicity. The Ritmo on the other hand, though pretty for its own era hasn’t aged quite as gracefully on account of some, rather distinctly of its era, styling gimmicks (although its restraint is admirable in an…
Yeah, that British MG was a shining example of quality craftsmanship.
I think they tried to copy the accord.
That’s a depressing collection other than the Fiats, Minis and Fiat/Mini knock-offs.
It’s a hollow victory considering that the women that protested to make this a reality are still in prison, being tortured, have disappeared or have had to flee the country. Women driving is a good thing but it’s only a crumb that MBS has tossed out so that everyone will look the other way on his repressive, murderous…
The higher limits of an R8 could be negated by a poor driver. The lower limits of a CR-V could be enhanced by a skilled driver. You can’t pick and chose your speed limits.
Hurray! Someone else (and I also do restos + mark + label parts) that gets it! I couldn’t figure the anger. When you sell off your electric E type project 10 years from now, If I can find the left side motor mount + carb mounting bracket (and the 100's of other stupid special parts) it makes my life sooo much easier…
Their statement is perfectly reasonable: what may today be a crappy worthless old car can be, in the future, a very rare historic and cultural document.
I would argue that LS swapping a Model T, or a Corvair, or any number of other vehicles would fundamentally transform the experience. It’s still powered by explosions fueled by dino juice, but the vehicle is radically changed.
I can understand your grievance that they only specify EV conversions and ignores ICE swaps. From my perspective the difference is that one likely completely changes the overall experience whereas the other doesn’t. I would never deign to tell people what to do with their cars, but for everyone I know who loves old…
