The facilities are probably not available. Most hockey arenas melt down the ice shortly after the season ends, both to allow for maintenance and so that they don’t have to unnecessarily refrigerate a giant facility for 4-6 of the hottest months of the year.
It’s not too long if you want to, say, be sure that your donation builds the facility that you want your kid to be able to have use of.
