Wrong. The poem is there because France saw in us then the same thing that immigrants today see in us now. They see hope, change, liberty, justice, and the pursuit of the American Dream. They see a land that not only welcomes them but needs them. They see opportunity. They see us and, well, they see themselves.

Racism. There were white indentured servants, but they were mostly released when their terms expired. Converting them to slaves instead would have been easy. But they were white, so they weren’t seen as inferior (or at least, not as inferior, there were still people who thought Irish and Italians were lesser, too).

I know you’re not receptive to facts, but since you’re ungreyed I’ll put this out there so the more reasonable population can remember.

I don’t know if the cost of running both leagues are equal, but they certainly are not proportional. Meaning that if the WNBA has 20% of the revenue, it doesn’t necessarily only have 20% of the expenses. Some things will be cheaper, but certain things will be fixed.

Do the WNBA or it’s team release earnings statements? I assume they don’t, so until we see those we will never know. I would assume they are being artificially held back on wages to some extent, but to what extent I have no idea.

No one actually knows the real numbers. But it’s safe to say the WNBA is not in the same financial position as the NBA, no. So this is all apples to oranges, to put it gently.
