And that way when the one and only screen fails or someone vandalizes it or tries to steal it, because it looks like it was designed to be snapped off, you lose all status of everything. They should have included a small simple cluster under the steering wheel for easy viewing and redundancy.

No, after a point they are both just as useless. An electric can be underpowered too. But most car spec talk is way overboard. No one needs sub 2 second 0-60 times. Even one of the boneheads from top gear was complaint about crappy cars that are crap because they just test them to go fast around the nurburging ring.
