Think about what you are saying and actually picture the result. Headline is supposed to read “Woman sxually abused for years”, with a photo of her smiling and looking triumphant? That would look WAY worse. You wanted a photo of her with her old medal or something?

Absolutely agree with this. Pictures are chosen specifically for certain stories. Just like when you write a story about someone being accused of a crime, you pick a photos that shows them surprised or some other unflattering pose.
