Here’s a fun game for those still making an effort to read Deadspin -

I don’t think a potential surgeon would be in the basket of people who would be content to sit at home and collect government cheese instead of go to work and save lives. Unfortunately, not everyone has the same psychological makeup.

You can’t in one breath say my data is cherry picked and then in the next say you’ve ignored my reasoning for why it’s not. You’re sticking your head in the sand like all the other Bernie bros here.

I see you’ve chosen to completely ignore my apple tree analogy. Moreover, you’d only think the graph is out of context if you didn’t already know the world’s population has grown since 1820. And if you didn’t know that, well, graphs probably aren’t for you to begin with. The fact that the sheer number of people in

You’re moving the goal posts. I’m not “crowing” about people living in poverty, but the only way to measure a number where the sample size being drawn from is GROWING is to look at it in terms of rate of change.

Lol and this is supposed to prove your point? Yes, the world population has increased drastically since 1820, and therefore the only logical way to look at poverty is through a proportion. I’d say you need to take a statistics course but perhaps long division would be a better place to start.

Guess you guys couldn’t find a “southern boy has racist parent” narrative for this so you had to turn it into a corporate greed thing.

Do you know how to read a graph?

Oh no! I’m truly devastated.

World War II was just as responsible for getting the US out of the depression as The New Deal, if not more so.

A chart you’ll never see here on Splinter -

You need a lesson in behavioral psychology. People need INCENTIVES to work. If you’re simply paying people to sit around and do nothing and not impose work requirements, guess what? A lot of people will be content to continue to sit around and do nothing and get paid for it.

I do not enjoy the suffering of others. It is in fact proponents of unions who make them seem like a good idea who end up causing the most suffering in the form of layoffs and restructuring due to the havoc unionizing wreaks. I’m the one looking out for the guy who’s gonna get suckered into this bullshit and be worse

That was all well and good up until the point you said the tribune will have “no choice” but to recognize the union. Whether people lose their jobs right off the bat or down the line when the paper can no longer afford them due to terms they bargained upon, it will end badly. Unionizing almost always does.

Or else what? They’ll refuse to work and be replaced by people who are actually willing and able to do those jobs just as well?

No...what? Splinter trying to twist something into being about race when there are clearly laid out facts that indicate the contrary? That’s not the blog I know...

Terrorism (noun) - the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims

I guess I’m not woke enough to understand what that means but you let me know when all that translates into winning elections.

Oh look it’s radically left-wing sophomore year sociology major dudebra here to roast me with some dank memes. Promise me once you start making money you won’t change your views.

There is plenty of detail in there. If you do not see it you are choosing to ignore it.
