Foxconn's suicide rate was, as many have pointed out, below the national average, and, as many others have pointed out, Apple/Dell/Mobo manufacturers were OK with Foxconn because it provided the cheapest manufacturing costs.

At last, this is one of the moves that has made the most sense for me. Having compensation for committing suicide is great in principle, but when you've got a so-called "epidemic" (which hasn't yet been statistically shown), incentivizing suicide seems the sure-fire way to ensure that the epidemic continues.
