I actually don’t think it is so much that. ANW Stage 1 for example was almost a carbon copy of Sasuke... 20 IIRC. The reason it seems easier is because the Stage one times seem about 10-20 seconds too high, thus allowing more flack to make stage 2.

Oh, if the JP competition is any indication, they will ratchet up the difficulity of Stage One a lot next year. I remember the transition between Stage One during Sasuke 4 and Sasuke 5 being pretty steep. (They did the same after 17 by moving a couple stage 2 obsticles to stage 1.)

Also note, I got what happened in MGS2, and I think Blue fox does to, still does not change the fact that the stories are incomprehensible to those who may be coming in cold/more casual MGS fans.
